Hoy puede ser mi gran noche
(Tonight might be my big night) is a theatre party, a humorous piece and a
musical autofiction that tells us the fascinating story of an orchestra
singer in Galicia in the 90’s and her daughter who aspires to be like her
father.
In this show, an actress and live music unfold into multiple voices to
recreate an emotional journey into the past, to a world full of exoticism
in order to comprehend this strange blend that arises from what we once
wanted to be and what we are now. This is a funny, brave and profound work
that celebrates what no longer exists, what could have been but wasn’t, an
ode to losers, to those who never give up the search for their big moment.
Tonight might be my big night
is an emotional story, a heart-wrenching tale where Teatro en Vilo once
again unfurls all the eloquence of their theatrical poetry, their
irreverence, their warmth and humour to show us the fight of a woman who
struggles between the extraordinary and the ordinary, between success and
defeat, the how-to-be and true happiness.
The show, which premiered at the Centro Niemeyer in Avilés on 29 February,
has recently been awarded the Audience Award at the 36th edition of the
Mostra Internacional de Teatro (MIT) in Ribadavia.
